In 1841 Frances Gurney, aged about 45, born in the county, and husband Edwin Gurney, aged about 40, surgeon, were living in Town, Camborne, Cornwall. With them was daughter Frances (15).

In 1850 Frances Knight Gurney was named as a beneficiary in her husband's will. In 1854 Frances renounced Administration (with the will annexed) in favour of her daughter Frances Knight Vivian Vivian (wife of William Cock Vivian).

In 1851 Frances Knight Gurney, aged 59, born in Camborne, and husband Edwin G. S. Gurney, aged 54, born in St. Allen, Cornwall, member of Royal College of Surgeons, & Licentate Apoth. Company London 1818), were living in Town, Camborne.

Letters of Administration of the personal estate and effects of Frances Knight Gurney late of Cheam in the county of Surrey, widow, deceased, who died 7 December 1858 at Cheam aforesaid, were granted 22 June 1859 at the Principal Registry to Frances Knight Vivian (wife of William Cock Vivian of Cheam aforesaid), one of the children of the said deceased, she having been first sworn. Effects under £800. 3
