1 The Visitations of the County of Cornwall - with additions by Lt.-Col. John Lambrick Vivian, Vivian of Roskear, p. 542. Called 'eldest son,' christened 18 Aug 1716. Per an article in The Cornwall Family History Magazine, Dec. 2001, by Trevor Brokenshire, this was the date of baptism of the eldest son of John Vivian and Alice, married in Camborne on 14 Nov 1715. The editor of the Visitation appears to have confused John Vivian (son of John and Alice) with Capt. John Vivian who married Ann Eva. The latter John died in 1790 aged 68 (i.e. born c. 1722). Furthermore, the Visitation incorrectly shows the burial date of the latter John Vivian as 2 Mar 1796 which is, in fact, the date when his eldest son was buried.
