John Vivian 1756-1796 of Trevassack in Phillack eldest son of John Vivian 1722-1790 formerly of Vellandsaundry, Camborne. He was employed at the Cornish Copper Company where his uncle Roger Vivian was Agent for 40 years. His second son was Capt. John Vivian 1784 - 1871 Seaman, born at Trevassack, at sea from 1798 - 1802 in the Packet Service. He was in London driving Richard Trevithick's engine in New Road in 1803. Commanded the Herald 1832-1842, the Cornwall 1842-1859 and the Columbia 1859-1860. He retired in 1860 aged 76 years. He, his father and his son John each married an Elizabeth Rosewarne. The son emigrated to Australia in 1836.
