In 1850 Thomas Vivian Gurney was named as a beneficiary in his father's will.
In 1871 Thomas Vivian Gurney, aged 43, born in Camborne Cornwall, annuitant, and wife Lizzie Alice Gurney, aged 26, born in Carmarthenshire, were living in Ashwells, South Weald, Essex. With them were children: Godfrey Charles (12) of Falmouth, scholar, Margaret (11) of Surrey, scholar, Gilbert (10) of Surrey, scholar, and Emily (7) of Madron, scholar.
In 1881 Thomas V. Gurney, aged 54, born in Camborne Cornwall, retired militia captain, interest of houses, and wife Alice Gurney, aged 36, born in Carmarthen, were lodging with Vincent and Emma May on Wood Street, Chipping Barnet, Hertfordshire.
In 1891 Thos. V. Gurney, aged 63, born in Cornwall, late captain Royal Surrey Militia, and wife Alice Gurney, aged 48, born in Wales, were at 21 Ockenden Rd., Islington, London. With them were son Godfrey C. (32) of Falmouth, gentleman, daughter-in-law Louisa (29) of Clerkenwell, grandsons Godfrey (7, Chas. Vivian Gurney (2) and Edwin (5 months), all born in Islington.
