In 1824 John Hawke of St. Issey was a beneficiary of the will of his son William Hawke, receiving an annuity of £10 for life.

Gives his freehold tenements in the parish of St. Issey, along with all his goods, chattels and effects, to the use of his son James Hawke of St. Issey, in trust, James paying the annual income from his real and personal estate to his wife Elizabeth Hawke for the term of her natural life.
Following the death of his wife he directs that his freehold tenements be sold and five-sixths of the proceeds be paid to his sons John Hawke, James Hawke and Johnson Hawke, his daughters Betsy Paynter Stevens and Sally Paynter James, and the remaining one-sixth be paid to William Hawke, John Hawke and Hercules Hawke, the three sons of his son William Hawke deceased.
Appoints his son James Hawke sole executor of his last will and testament.
