  Research Notes:

In 1826 James Hawke was sole executor of his father's will.

In November 1831 James Hawke was present at the marriage of his sister Betsey Paynter Stephens (widow) to William Hicks in St. Issey.

In 1841 James Hawke Sen., aged about 55, born in the county, shoe maker, and wife Grace Hawke, aged about 55, were living in Church Town, St. Issey, Cornwall. With them were children James Jun. (25), schoolm., Mary (25), and Ann (15).

In November 1848 James Hawke Snr was present at the marriage of his daughter Ann Hawke to Edmund Pasmore in St. Issey.

In 1851 James Hawke, aged 65, born in St. Issey, retired shoe maker, and wife Grace Hawke, aged 67, born in St. Issey, were living in Church Town, St. Issey, Cornwall. With them were children (born in St. Issey) James (39), carpenter, and Mary (35), employed at home.

In 1861 James Hawke, aged 75, born in St. Issey, retired cordwainer, and wife Grace Hawke, aged 77, born in St. Issey, were living in Church Town, St. Issey. With them were children James (49) of St. Issey, carpenter, and Mary (45) of St. Issey.

In 1865 James Hawke of St. Issey, gentleman, was sole executor of the will of his son James Hawke.

The Will of James Hawke late of Church Town in the parish of St. Issey in the county of Cornwall, yeoman, deceased, who died 8 February 1867 at St. Issey aforesaid, was proved 25 March 1867 at Bodmin by the oath of Mary Hawke of St. Issey, spinster, daughter, one of the executrixes. Effects under £1,000. 2

James married Grace Warne, daughter of John Warne of Trevance and Grace Geach, on 21 Dec 1805 in St. Issey, Cornwall. (Grace Warne was born in 1783 in St. Issey, Cornwall, christened 14 Sep 1783 in St. Issey, Cornwall and was buried on 30 Sep 1867 in St. Issey, Cornwall, aged 84 years.)
