  Research Notes:

In April 1812 Martha Hawke was present at the marriage of her brother William Hawke to Susanna Pearce in St. Issey Cornwall.

In November 1831 Martha Hawken was present at the marriage of her sister Betsey Paynter Stephens (widow) to William Hicks in St. Issey.

In 1841 Martha Hawken, aged about 45, born in the county, farmer's wife, and husband John Hawken, aged about 56?, farmer, were living in Treginegar, St. Ervan, Cornwall. With them were children Willliam (20), Mary (16), James (13), and Jane (11).

In 1851 Martha Hawken, aged 57, born in St. Issey Cornwall, farmer's wife, and husband John Hawken, aged 63, born in St. Ervan, farmer of 200 acres employing 8 men 2 women and a boy, were living in Treginegar, St. Ervan, Cornwall. With them were children (born in St. Ervan) Mary H. (25), James (22), and Jane P. (20).

In 1861 Martha Hawken, aged 66, born in St. Issey, and husband John Hawken, aged 72, born in St. Ervan, retired farmer, were living in Cottage, Little Petherick, Cornwall.

In 1871 Martha Hawken, aged 77, born in St. Issey, widow, retired, was with her daughter Betsy P. Hawken and her family in Higher Tregrahan, St. Blazey, Cornwall.
