Obituary, 25 Sep 1982

ISHPEMING - LeRoy S. Vivian, 85, retired Ishpeming businessman, died Friday morning at the Bell Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.

He was born March 28, 1897, in Ishpeming, and was a lifelong resident. He was co-founder and co-owner of the Ruusi-Vivian Oil Co. of Ishpeming. He retired in 1964, when he sold his interest to Henry Ruusi. He was a life member of the Zenith Lodge Knights of Pythias, life member of the Ishpeming Elks Club, life member of the Scottish Rite, member of the Ishpeming Masonic Lodge and a member of the Ahmed Temple Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Bergquist of Downey, Calif.; one brother, Robert, of Muskegon; three sisters: Mrs. Alice Bonjiorno, and Mrs. Hazel Morgan, both of Escondido, Calif.; and Mrs. Irene Brose of Detroit; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Sahs to officiate. Burial will be in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Magnuson, Edmund Thomas, Henry Ruusi, E.J. St. Onge, Richard Cryderman and James Penrose. 5
