ISHPEMING - Mabel W. Vivian, 91, of 1120 N. Second St., Ishpeming, died Monday evening, July 3, 1995, at Bell Memorial Hospital in Ishpeming where she'd been a patient for one week.

Mrs. Vivian was born Jan. 7, 1904 in Ishpeming to the late Olaus and Hedvig (Carlson) Warlin. She was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Ishpeming High School and Northern Michigan College of Education. She taught school and served as principal at Ishpeming's Central School for many years.

Mrs. Vivian was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Ishpeming, Hematite Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the Pythian Sisters. She served on the National Council of Girl Scouts for several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Robert) Bergquist of Downey, Calif.; three granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, in 1982; four sisters and three brothers.

A memorial service begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming, with the Rev. Thomas Lee to officiate. Burial will be in the Ishpeming Cemetery..... 4
