The Will of Stephen Blight of the Parish of Illogan in the County of Cornwall, Yeoman, written 8 Jul 1829, proved 14 Jun 1830. 2
I Stephen Blight of the Parish of Illogan in the County of Cornwall, Yeoman, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First, My Will is that no part of my personal Property which I shall or may die possessed of be divided during the minority of either of my surviving children
Secondly, I will that the rents issues and profits of my said personal Property (or such Part of Parts thereof as shall or may be indispensibly necessary) be applied for the maintenance and support of my dear Wife Mary Blight during the minority of all my Children (if she shall continue unmarried during their minority as aforesaid and not otherwise) And also for the maintenance and support of my Children during their several and respective minorities
Thirdly, I give unto my said Wife after my youngest surviving child . . . . shall attain the age of twenty one years the yearly sum of twelve Pounds of lawful British Money during her natural life if she shall so long continue unmarried and no longer . . . . . . . . The said Annuity to be levied and paid out of my Estate and Effects and to be paid by quarterly payments — If my said Wife should die or be married during the minority of either of my children the said Yearly sum of twelve Pounds shall be possessed and enjoyed by my two sons Stephen Blight and Richard Blight their executors Administrators and Assigns as tenants in Common and not as joint tenants, share and share alike — And if my said Wife shall remain and for ever continue unmarried then she shall be at liberty to devise by Will the said Yearly sum of twelve Pounds to any or either of my then surviving Children and to no one else
Fourthly, I give unto my said Sons Stephen Blight and Richard Blight immediately after my then youngest surviving Child shall attain the age of twenty one years All my live and dead farm Stock when shall then on any Part or Parts of my Leasehold Premises share and share alike Provided nevertheless if either of my two said Sons shall die or be married and go off to live or leave my present family previous to the general division of my property the survivor or the other of them who shall remain unmarried and continue to live with his Mother and the younger branches of the family he shall have the Whole of the said live and dead stock
Sixthly [sic], I hereby order that my said Wife have a Dwelling House consisting of two rooms for her to live in together with all and singular my household goods and furniture — subject nevertheless to the same restrictions as hereinbefore mentioned respecting her annuity
Seventhly, I give unto each of my surviving daughters the sum of five Pounds of like lawful Money as aforesaid to be paid within Six Calendar Months after my then . . . . youngest Surviving Child shall attain the age of twenty one years
Eightly, All the rest residue and remainder of my personal Property of what nature or kind soever which shall remain after my then youngest surviving Child shall attain the age of twenty one years I give unto my then surviving Sons their Executors Administrators and assigns as tenants in Common and not as joint tenants Share and Share alike
And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Wife Mary Blight and my two Sons Stephen Blight and Richard Blight the Executrix and Executors of this my last Will and Testament — In Witness where of I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this eighth day of July in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and twenty nine
