In 1881 Mary Penrose, aged 37, born in Illogan, and husband William Penrose, aged 38, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, grocer, were at Paynters Lane End, Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan) Mary Blight (10), scholar, Elizabeth (8), scholar, William (6), scholar, Eliza Ellen (4), scholar, and Jane (2).
In 1891 Mary Penrose, aged 47, born in Illogan, grocer, and husband William Penrose, aged 49, born in St. Agnes, grocer, were in Broad Lane, Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan) Minnie (20), grocer, Willie (15), tin miner, Lilie (13), milliner, Janie (11), scholar, and Richard (9), scholar.
In 1901 Mary M. Penrose, aged 56, born in Illogan, and husband William Penrose, aged 57, born in Illogan, grocer, were in Paynters Lane, Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan, single) Eliza J. (24), domestic, Jane (21), dressmaker, and Richard (19), engineer.
In October 1907 Mary Mitchell Penrose, widow, was granted Administration of her late husband's effects.

ILLOGAN.
DEATH OF MRS. PENROSE. The death of Mrs. William Penrose took place at Illogan on Sunday afternoon. Deceased was sixty-five years of age, and was highly respected. She leaves two daughters at home namely, Miss Lillie Penrose and Mrs. Biddick. Another daughter, Mrs. Osborne, and a son, Mr. Richard Penrose, are both in Arizona, and the sad news will not reach them for some time. Deep sympathy is felt for the bereaved family.
