In 1871 Elizabeth Blight, aged 60, born in Illogan Cornwall, grocer's wife, and husband Richard Blight, aged 64, born in Illogan, grocer, were living at grocer's shop, Roberts Terrace, Illogan. With them were children (born in Illogan, unmarried) Stephen (29) and Eliza (23).

On Sunday evening about six o'clock, Eliza* Blight, relict* of Richard Blight, of Illogan Churchtown, suddenly expired just after having partaken of her tea. It appears that she had suffered from heart-disease for some years, but sudden death was in no way anticipated.

* i.e. Elizabeth. Her husband was still living and therefore the term 'relict' is incorrect.
Marriage Information:
Elizabeth married Richard Blight, son of Stephen Blight of Illogan Highway and Mary Kemp, in 1840 in the Redruth district, Cornwall. (Richard Blight was christened 22 Jun 1806 in Illogan, Cornwall, died on 26 Mar 1901 at Robartes Terrace, Illogan, Cornwall, and was buried on 30 Mar 1901 in Illogan, Cornwall, aged 95 years.)
