Obituary
" THE LATE MISS LILY BLIGHT.
The late Miss Lily Blight, who was privately interred at the Spring Farm Cemetery oft March 18th, died at the Clare and District Hospital on March 17th after an illness borne with wonderful fortitude. She was born at Clare in 1886 and was the eldest child of the late Mr. W. H. and Mrs. Blight, and lived most of her life in Clare, except for two or three years at Burra until 1932. Then, on the death of her youngest brother's wife, she went to Barmera and took charge of the home for the brother and his two small sons. Her brother died in Keswick Military Hospital in 1936 and she assumed the guardianship of the children and kept the home for them on the block at Barmera. At the end of 1941 she and the boys returned to Clare intending to stay for a time, as the present manager of the property needs the house. She had been ailing for some weeks. Later her illness increased, and she died in the Clare and District Hospital on 17th March. Her brother and sister (Mr. John Blight of Adelaide, and Miss Linda Blight, of Clare) and the two boys, Brian and Warren Blight, are left to mourn one who faithfully carried out her responsibilities to life's end with a fine spirit and a wonderful example that was an inspiration to all with whom she came in contact. The two young boys, aged 14 and 11 years respectively, will now be in charge of their aunt, Miss Linda Blight." 3
