"The Late Mr. John Dunstone. - The men who were the bone and sinew of the colony some 30 years ago are gradually passing away. The effects of time are plainly visible on the-pioneer survivors - the silvery locks, the wrinkled brow, the tottering step, and bending infirmities tell in unmistakable language that their days on earth will soon be over. Mr. John Dunstone, who for a number of years resided at Spring Farm, in the Clare district, has been taken from our midst. For some months he felt that the pins of the tabernacle were loosening, and despite medical skill the structure gave way, and he bade his friends "good bye" on Friday last. He did not stop amongst us the allotted three score years and ten, for the number written on the ' narrow house' in which the body was conveyed to its last resting-place was 64. The remains were interred in the Spring Farm cemetery on Saturday, and the Rev. C. T. Newman conducted the funeral service. On Sunday evening Mr. Newman preached in the Clare church from the words ' To me to live is Christ, and to die is gain,' when special reference was made to the departed." 6
