There is very little information regarding the early members of this family; Arthur Warren the younger was appointed High Sheriff of Nottingham on 13th Nov. 1670 and held office until 3rd Nov. 1680. He also served as Magistrate for the period 1681 to1688....
His estates were quite extensive and comprised: Stapleford Hall and its lands, tenements etc. In Toton, Chilwell, Attenborough and Barton in Notts, the manors, or lordships, of Stratton Sudley, Oxon, Little Marlow, Davers Craultons, Monken Medmenham and Ludgeshall, in Bucks. With properties, lands, advowsons etc. in those places as well as lands, tenements etc. in Wooburn, Great Wickham, Hitcham, Burnham, Grendon Glory and Bockmere, Bucks. 1

In 1684 Authur Warren of Stapilford in co. Nottingham, Esquire, was co-executor of the will of his mother-in-law Alice Borlase of Bockmer, widow.
In 1689 Arthur Warren of Stapleford Hall in co. Nottingham, Esqr, was sole executor of the will of his brother-in-law Sir John Borlase of Bockmer, Baronet.

Abstract of the Will of Arthur Warren of Stapleford in the County of Nottingham, Esquire, written 25 Jun 1694, proved 14 Dec 1697. 5
Gives to his wife Ann his capital messuage in Stapleford where he now lives, and all other cottages, lands & tenements in Stapleford, with use of the plate, bedding and other household goods for the term of her natural life. He also gives her an annuity of £500.
He gives to his wife Anne, to George Borlase of the City of London, Esquire, Francis Duffield of Medmenham in co. Bucks, Esquire, and Thomas Charlton son and heir apparent of Thomas Charlton of Chilwell in co. Notts, Esquire, in trust, his manors of Minchen Marlow alias Little Marlow, Davers, Craultons, Monken, Mednemham, Largesale alias Ludgarsale alias Ludgarshall, in co. Bucks, the manor of Stratton Audley in co. Oxon etc., directing his trustees to pay from the issues and profits of said manors the various bequests and annuities of the will of (his brother-in-law) Sir John Borlase of Bockmore who had appointed Arthur trustee (and sole executor).
Gives £1,000 to his son James Warren, to be paid to him when he turns twenty-one.

Gives £10 to the poor of Stapleford.

Gives £20 each to his servants Nurse Jackson, widow, Anne Sturley, Jane Low, Anne Hibbert, William Higgins and Alsen.
Gives £10 to his servant Richard Sheppard of Stratton Audley.
Gives his wife all her jewells, diamonds, precious stones, necklaces, lockets, watches and rings, and all the rest of his personal estate, appointing her sole executrix of his last will and testament.
In a codicil dated 2 Nov 1694, he increases the annuity given to his wife from £500 to £600. He also gives her his best coach and four best coach horses with the best harnesses.
Gives an additional £500 to his daughter Anne.
Lays out £20 for the purchase of gold rings to be given to such of his friends as his wife thinks fit.
