In 1814 Mary Alexander was a beneficiary of her father's Will, receiving £10,000 stock in the four percent consols in the Bank of England for her life and thereafter to her sons Richard and George to be divided equally among them. She also received from her father £500.
In 1843 Mary was co-executor of her husband's Will.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Mary Alexander, aged 78*, born in London, widow, fund holder, was in High Street, Corsham.

On the 10th instant, at Corsham, Mary, widow of the late R. H. Alexander, esq., at the advanced age of 96 and a half. The deceased lady was much beloved and respected by all classes. In her lamented death the poor of the parish have lost an exceedingly kind and charitable friend. She retained her faculties to the last.

The Will with twelve Codicils of Mary Alexander late of Corsham in the County of Wilts, widow, deceased, who died 10 December 1866 at Corsham aforesaid, was proved 12 January 1867 at Salisbury by the oaths of Richard Chandler Alexander Prior of Halse House near Taunton in the County of Somerset, Esquire, and George Alexander of Westropp House Highworth in the County of Wilts aforesaid, Esquire, the sons, and Mary Anne Goldney (wife of Gabriel Goldney, Esquire) of Beechfield House Chippenham in the County of Wilts aforesaid, the daughter, the executors. Effects under £12,000. Resworn at the Stamp Office December 1867 under £14,000. 4
