At the time of the 1871 England Census Ethel J Swayne, aged 16, born in Stratford-sub-Castle Wilts, scholar, was with her parents at The Island, Wilton Wiltshire.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Ethel Julia Goldney, aged 25, born in Stratford sub Castle Wilts, and husband Frederick H Goldney, aged 35, born in Chippenham Wilts, solicitor, were living in Rowden? House, Chippenham. Present were daughters (born in Chippenham) Katherine L (2) and Mary D (1), and Frederick's brother Gabriel P Goldney (37) of Chippenham, unmarried, barrister...

At the time of the 1911 England Census Ethel Julia Goldney, aged 53, born in Wilton Wilts (mother of 5 children), private means, and husband of 36 years Frederick Hastings Goldney, aged 65, born in Chippenham Wilts, private means, Justice of the Peace, were living in Prior Place, Camberley, Frimley Surrey. With them were children (single) Katharine Long (32), Mary De La Riviere (30), Eveline Margaret Hungerford (29), Lucy Hulbert (27), and Harry Hastings (24) of Chippenham, B.A.

Lady Goldney died at her residence, Beech Field, Corsham, late on Friday night, after a short illness. Lady Goldney was the daughter of the late H. J. F. Swayne, Recorder of Wilton, and married in 1875 Sir Frederick Hastings Goldney, Bart., who succeeded to the Baronetcy last year on the death of his brother, Sir Gabriel Prior Goldney, a former City of London Remembrancer. Sir Frederick and Lady Goldney celebrated their golden wedding last year.
