Frederick Hastings Goldney was Mayor of Chippenham from 1874 to 1888.

In September 1877 Frederick Hastings Goldney of Chippenham was co-executor of the Will of Henry Alworth Merewether of Bowden Hill, Wilts.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Frederick H Goldney, aged 35, born in Chippenham Wilts, solicitor, and wife Ethel Julia Goldney, aged 25, born in Stratford sub Castle Wilts, were living in Rowden? House, Chippenham. Present were daughters (born in Chippenham) Katherine L (2) and Mary D (1), and Frederick's brother Gabriel P Goldney (37) of Chippenham, unmarried, barrister...

At the time of the 1901 England Census Frederick H Goldney, aged 55, born in Corsham Wilts, living on own means, magistrate, and wife Ethel J Goldney, aged 46, born in Wilton Wilts, were in Chobham Road, Frimley Surrey. With them were children Katherine L (22) of Chippenham, Mary H (21) of Chippenham, Evelyn M (18) of Chippenham, and Lucy H (12) of Camberley Surrey.

ESTATE OF LADY GOLDNEY.-The administration of the estate, valued at £2,008 19s. 10d., of Dame Mary Anne Goldney, wife of Sir Gabriel Goldney, of Beechfield, Wilts, first baronet, and daughter of Mr. Richard Hayward Alexander, of Corsham, Wilts, has now been granted to the surviving executor, the testatrix's son, Mr. Frederick Hastings Goldney, of Prior-place, Camberley.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Frederick Hastings Goldney, aged 65, born in Chippenham Wilts, private means, Justice of the Peace, and wife of 36 years Ethel Julia Goldney, aged 53, born in Wilton Wilts (mother of 5 children), private means, were living in Prior Place, Camberley, Frimley Surrey. With them were children (single) Katharine Long (32), Mary De La Riviere (30), Eveline Margaret Hungerford (29), Lucy Hulbert (27), and Harry Hastings (24) of Chippenham, B.A.

In May 1912 Frederick Hastings Goldney was present at the marriage of his daughter Eveline Margaret Hungerford Goldney to Graham Eardley Dunsterville in Corsham Wilts.

In April 1916 F H Goldney was present at the marriage of his daughter Lucy Hulbert Goldney to Aubrey Cyril Sikkim Bowman in Corsham Wilts.

SIR F. H. GOLDNEY, 83.

Veteran Representative of an Honoured Wilts Family.

Sir Frederick Hastings Goldney, Bt., who, as we have already mentioned, was 83 on Saturday, is the second son of Sir Gabriel Goldney, 1st Baronet, of Beechfield, Chippenham and Bradenstoke Abbey, Wilts. He is descended from a very old and esteemed Chippenham family. Sir Frederick's mother was a daughter of the late Richard Hayward Alexander, of Corsham. He was educated at Harrow, and in 1874-5 was Mayor of Chippenham, and again in 1888. In February, 1875 he married Ethel Julia, daughter of Mr. Henry James Fowle Swayne, the last Recorder of Wilton. She died in 1926, leaving one son (Mr. Henry Hastings Goldney, M.C.) and four daughters. Sir Frederick is a magistrate for Wiltshire and Surrey, and was Sheriff for Wiltshire in 1908.

At the same address were [daughters] Katherine L Goldney (b. 22 Oct 1878), single, independent means, and Mary D Goldney (b. 4 Feb 1880), single, independent means.
