In his younger days he was a tailor in business with his father, who kept a shop in High-street, but subsequently he was employed by Mr. Funnell, grocer, of George-street, and managed a tobacconist business for that gentleman. The deceased and his wife, who had been married 59 years, were constant attendants at the Ebenezer Chapel, of which place of worship they were the oldest members.
