Abstract of the Will of Richard Garnons of Caernarvon in the County of Caernarvon, Esquire, written 5 Mar 1796, inventory taken 19 Mar 1803, will proved 19 Apr 1803. 7

Allocates to his wife Anne out of his estates and hereditaments in the counties of Merioneth, Carnarvon and Anglesey one third part in dower.

Gives and devises his said hereditaments & premises to the Reverend Francis Parry of Hendreforion in co. Merioneth, Clerk, and William Glynn Griffith of Carnarvon, Gent. to hold in Trust, and raise from said hereditaments & premises the sum of £1000 for the use of his daughter Catherine Jones Garnons.

Gives and devises his said hereditaments & premises to his only son Richard Garnons and his heirs....

Gives and bequeaths £5 to his niece Mrs Hughes the wife of John William Hughes of Tregeb in co. Carnarvon, Esquire.

Gives and bequeaths £5 to his sister Mrs Parry the wife of the Revd. Francis Parry of Hendreforion in co. Merioneth, Clerk.

Gives and bequeaths £5 to the said Francis Parry.

Gives and bequeaths £5 to his nephew John Griffith Parry the son of the said Francis Parry.

Gives and bequeaths Mrs. Evans daughter of the said Francis Parry and wife of the Revd. David [blank] Evans of Tymawr in the parish of Llanegern in co. Merioneth, Clerk.

Gives and bequeaths £5 each to his nieces Ann Parry and Catherine Parry daughters of the said Francis Parry.

Gives and bequeaths £6 6s. each to his servants Jane Hughes and Robert Edwards if they still be in his service at the time of his decease.

Gives and bequeaths £4 4s. to [his servant] Henry Jones on like terms.

Gives and bequeaths £3 3s. each to [his servants] Ann Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas on like terms.

All the rest and residue of his personal estate he gives and bequeaths to his wife Anne Garnons whom he appoints sole executrix of his last will and testament.

However, a "true and perfect inventory of all the goods, chattels & personal estate of Richard Garnons late of Carnarvon in the county of Carnarvon & diocese of Bangor Esquire deceased [was] made by us whose names are hereunto subscribed the nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Three." In other words, Richard Garnons died shortly before 19 Mar 1803.
