Richard Garnons of Colomendy was the deputy lieutenant for the counties of Carnarvon and Flint.
He commanded the local Mold volunteers raised in 1803. This later became the 2nd Regiment of the Royal Flintshire Militia and he continued as lieutenant colonel commandant until the reduction of
the force. He succeeded to the Pant du and Nantlle estates upon the death of his father in 1803 and to his other lands in Carnarvon and Flintshire on the decease of his mother.... 6

In 1796 Richard was bequeathed his father's hereditaments and premises in the counties of Merioneth, Carnarvon and Anglesey, one third thereof assigned in dower to Richard's mother.
In May 1810 Richard Garnons Esquire was granted Administration of his mother's personale state.
Richard Garnons is named as deceased in the Will of his relict Dorothea Garnons of Colomendy (1853).
