Writing his Will in May 1835 John Crowhurst of Bexhill, yeoman, named his son William Crowhurst as a beneficiary.
At the time of the 1851 England Census William Crowhurst, aged 41, born in Bexhill Sussex, painter, and wife Lucy, age 43, born in All Saints Lewes, camise linen, were living at 72 Glo'ster Lane, Brighton St. Peter, Sussex. Visiting was George Markwick, age 4, born in London.
