In 1832, Evan Lloyd was a witness at the marriage of his sister Catherine to Lewis Meredith.

Indenture between Evan Lloyd of Barmouth, shopkeeper and Catherine his wife (one part), and Griffith Griffiths of Taltreuddyn (second part); the Lloyds sell to G.G., a piece or parcel of land in Morfa Mawr, parish of Llanfair, Merioneth., about two acres and a half, abutting on Taltreuddyn property. Evan Lloyd had become possessed of this parcel of land through the intestacy of his brother Edmund, while Edmund inherited it as the grandson of Griffith Owen of Barmouth, a gentleman who not only owned land, but held substantial shares in merchant vessels 4

In 1851, Evan Lloyd (40) of Barmouth, landed proprietor, and wife Cathrine (43) of Caernarvonshire, were living in 3 Borthwen Terrace, Dolgelly, Merionethshire. Present were children (born in Barmouth, all unmarried): Catharine (15), scholar, William H. (13), scholar, Anne Jane (10), scholar, Edward H. (9), scholar, Evan (7), scholar, Edmund P. (4), Angharad (1), and two servants Bridget Griffiths (27) of Merioneth, and Ann Morris (15) of Llanaber Merioneth, both unmarried.

Will of Evan Lloyd of Borthwen Terrace, Gent., written 17 May 1853, proved 29 Sep 1853.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Evan Lloyd of Borthwen Terrace Barmouth in the County of Merioneth Gentleman. I give devise and bequeath All and singular my real and personal Estate of what nature soever and wheresoever situate with their and every of their appurtenances unto my dear Wife Catharine Lloyd her Heirs Executors administrators or assigns according to the nature of each to and for her and their own use and benefit and her appoint her Executrix of this my Will. In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and fifty three 1853.

Signed sealed published acknowledged and declared by the Testator as and for his Will in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto put our Names as Witnesses.

On the 29th day of September in the Year of our Lord 1853 the within written Will was insinuated, proved, approved and in common form of law decreed valid and Administrations granted to the within named Executrix Catharine Lloyd, she being first sworn in common form of law, and that the whole of the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £300.
