In 1893 and 1894 James and his wife Eveline were living in Buryas Bridge, near Penzance, Cornwall.
In 1899 they were living at Tregonebris, in Sancreed, Cornwall.
In 1901 the family were living at Bramwoods (Farm), Writtle, Essex.
James was recorded as a farmer (employer).
Also at the address was Eveline's sister Norah Holman, and a domestic servant called Amelia Warren, age 18, who was born in St Just, Cornwall, so presumably moved up to Essex with the family.
By 1919 James and Eveline had moved to College Farm in Chevington, Suffolk.
Later, they moved to Hunden, Suffolk, where James started a poultry business.
After retiring, James and Eveline moved to Penventon, near Newbridge, Cornwall, where they lived until their deaths with their daughter Lynne (Dorothy Eveline Boyle Hichens).
