At the time of the 1871 England Census John Carey, age 24, born in South Malling Sussex, iron moulder, and wife Fanny R, age 22, born in Hastings Sussex, were living in . . . . . . . Green, Ringmer Sussex. With them was son John G (2) of Lewes Sussex. John's parents were at the same address.
At the time of the 1881 England Census John Carey, age 32, born in Ringmer [sic], married, iron moulder, was living in South Parade, Lewes St. Michael Sussex. With him were children Fanny (10) of Ringmer, and Bertie (2) of Lewes.
At the time of the 1891 England Census John Carey, age 44, born in Lewes [sic], and [2nd] wife Margaret, age 29, born in Brighton, were living at 41 Viaduct Rd., Preston Sussex. Present were children: Fanney (18) of Ringmer, William (16) of Lewis, Maud (3) of Brighton.
