In 1844 John Maskelyne Yorke was co-executor of his father's Will.

In 1851 John M. Yorke, aged 34, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, farmer of 182 acres employing 15 men, and wife Jane, aged 36, born in Cliffe Wilts, were living in The New Farm, Hillmarton Wilts. With them were children Henry (3) of Hammersmith Middlesex, and born in Hillmarton: Sarah Ann (1), Mary M. (1) and John (3 m).

In 1855 John Maskelyne Yorke was co-executor of the Will of his late sister Jane Yorke of Wootton Bassett, spinster.

In 1861 John M Yorke, aged 44, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, widower, farmer of 275 acres employing 9 men and 3 boys, was in Catcomb, Hillmarton Wilts. The Will of John Maskelyne Yorke formerly of Catcombe Farm in the parish of Hillmarton but late of Hollyditch Farm in the parish of Calne both in the county of Wilts, farmer, who died 23 August 1888 at Hollyditch Farm, was proved 17 October at Salisbury by John Yorke, farmer, the son, and Sarah Anne Yorke and Jane Maskelyne Yorke, spinsters, the daughters, all of Hollyditch Farm, the executors. Personal estate £1,463 18s. 6d. 3
