On 2 Apr 1855 George Carey, born 20 May 1835 [sic] in Lewes Sussex, voluntarily enlisted with the Royal Naval Seamen. 3

On 3 Dec 1879 George Carey, age 43, born in South Malling Sussex, a private in 15 Hussars Regiment, was granted a military pension. 4
