Obituary.—The death occurred on May 8th from wounds received in action near the Dardenelles of Mr. Douglas Stealey, only son of Mrs. Stealey and of the late Capt. John Stealey, of Sunny Hill, Laugharne, and grandson of the late Mr. Richard Hughes, chemist, Great Darkgate-street, Aberystwyth. Mr. Stealey was engaged in a bank, but joined the R.N.V.R. and left Avonmouth, Bristol, on March 1st, and was serving in the Nelson Battalion as acting leading seaman with the 1st R.N. Brigade of the R.N. Division. He would have attained his twenty-first birthday on the 25th May inst. Mrs. Stealey, with whom great sympathy will be felt in the loss of her only son, received a letter from on the 4th May. He had written on the 21st April saying he was then on board ship and quite well, but expected to be in the fighting line by the end of that week.
