In December 1830 Maria Blackman was present at the marriage of her sister Caroline Blackman to Robert Deudney in Hooe Sussex.
Writing his Will in March 1836 Benjamin Blackman of Hooe, gent., bequeathed to his daughter Maria the wife of Thomas Martin £500.
In November 1838 Maria Martin and her husband Thos. Martin were present at the marriage of Maria's sister Matilda Blackman to Walter Duke in East Peckham Kent.
At the time of the 1841 England Census Maria Martin, aged about 30, and husband Thomas Martin, aged about 35, farmer, were living in Hextle House, East Peckham Kent. With them were children: Edwin (5), Emily (2) and Frederick (1 month).
In 1849 Maria Martin was co-executor of her late husband's Will, having been bequeathed for the term of her natural life the interest income from £8,000.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Maria Martin, aged 42, born in Hooe Sussex, married [sic], landed proprietor, was living in Hextle House, East Peckham Kent. With her were children (born in East Peckham) Anna (8), Leslie (3), and sister Caroline Deudney (43) of Hooe, married.
At the time of the 1861 England Census Maria Martin, aged 52, born in Hooe Sussex, widow, landed proprietor, was living in Hextle House, East Peckham Kent. With her were children (born in East Peckham) Anna (18) and Leslie (13), scholar.
In July 1866 Maria Martin was present at the marriage of her daughter Anna Martin to Charles Walter Kellow in East Peckham Kent.
At the time of the 1871 England Census Maria Martin, aged 62, born in Hooe Sussex, widow, was with her son Edwin Martin and his family in Grove House, Worth Sussex.
