HADLOW.
The mortal remains of our late esteemed neighbour, Thomas Martin, Esq., of East Peckham, were deposited in the family vault in the chancel on Wednesday last. The funeral was quite unostentatious ; no mourning coaches were used, but the hearse was followed by 13 private carriages, containing the friends of the deceased, who were desirous of sharing in the last tribute of respect to departed worth. His life was marked by kindness and charity, and many are left to mourn his death.
