In 1849 Horace Martin was bequeathed £6,000 in his father's Will.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Horace Martin, aged 17, and brother Edwin Martin, aged 15, both born in East Peckham Kent, pupils, were in Sholden Kent.
At the time of the 1861 England Census Horace Martin, aged 27, born in East Peckham Kent, landed proprietor, and wife Ellen M, aged 24, born in Fletching Sussex, were living in Oldbury Rd., Ightham Kent. Present was sister-in-law Louisa Turner (20) of Fletching, fundholder.
In July 1866 Horace Martin was present at the marriage of his sister Anna Martin to Charles Walter Kellow in East Peckham Kent.
At the time of the 1871 England Census Horace Martin, aged 37, born in East Peckham Kent, landowner, and wife Ellen M, aged 34, born in Fletching Sussex, were living in West Bank House, Wrotham Kent.
In March 1878 Horace Martin of West Bank in the parish of Ightham in county Kent and his brother Edwin Martin of the Grove in the parish of Worth in the county of Sussex, esquires, were co-executors of their mother's Will.
In March 1888 Horace Martin of West Bank Wrotham in the county of Kent, esquire, and his brother Edwin Martin of the Grove Worth in the county of Sussex, esquire, were co-executors of the Will of their late brother Cpt. Leslie Martin of the 12th Royal Lancers.

HADLOW.
FUNERAL OF THE LATE MR. HORACE MARTIN.—The interment of this gentleman took place on Monday, at Hadlow, in the presence of a great number of sorrowing relations and friends, who deeply sympathise with the bereaved widow in her sorrow. Deceased had lived for the last 33 years at West Bank and Oldbury House, Ightham, and will be very much missed, particularly among the poor, to whom he was very good in many ways. He was a good neighbour and friend, always ready to do good to those in need.
