At the time of the 1861 England Census Frances Green, aged 39, born in Newington Kent, and husband James E Green, aged 35, born in Detling Kent, master bricklayer employing 1 man, were living in Boxley Street, Boxley Kent. With them were children Elizabeth F (8) of Maidstone, scholar, and born in Boxley: James E (6), Clara Kate (4), George H (3), William (3 mo), Benjamin (3 mo), and James's mother Frances (73) of Stockbury Kent, widow.

In June 1869 Frances Green of Boxley was granted Letters of Administration of the personal effects of her late husband.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Frances Green, aged 48, born in Newington Kent, widow, rag-cutter at paper mill, was living at 6 Quarry Sq., Maidstone Kent. With her were children (born in Boxley Kent): James (17), journeyman bricklayer, Clara (14), scholar, George (13), grocer's porter, William (10), scholar, Jesse (7), scholar, and Julia (3).

At the time of the 1881 England Census Frances Green, aged 61, born in Newton Camb [sic], widow, laundress, was living at 4 Quarry Sq., Maidstone Kent. Present were children (born in Boxley Kent): James E (26), bricklayer, George H (23), bricklayer, Clara K (24), rag cutter [at] paper mill, William (20), plasterer, and Julia (13), scholar.
