At the time of the 1841 England Census Sarah Blackley, aged about 20, and husband William Blackley, aged about 30, leather cu[rrier], were living in Biggin Street, St. Mary the Virgin, Dover Kent. With them were children: Alfred* (10), Benjamin* (8), Ellen* (6), and William (2). [Sarah's sister] Mary Callaway (20), farm servant, was also present.

* Children of William's first wife Elizabeth (Sarah's late sister).

At the time of the 1851 England Census Sarah Ann Blackley, aged 30, born in Newington Kent, mangler, and husband William Blackley, aged 43, born in Canterbury Kent, shoemaker, were living at 24 White Street, St. George the Martyr, Southwark Surrey. With them were children (born in Dover Kent) Alfred (18), linen draper's porter, Benjamin (17), shoemaker, William (11), scholar, and Frederick (6), scholar.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Sarah Blackly, aged 40, born in Newington Kent, and husband William Blackly, aged 53, born in Canterbury Kent, cordwainer, were living at 17 Nelson St., Bermondsey Surrey. With them were children William (21) of Dover Kent, warehouseman, Fredk. (16) of Dover, news vender, Elizabeth (6) of St. Georges Southwark, and Sarah (3 or 5) of Bermondsey.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Sarah A Blackly, aged 50, born in Newington Kent, and husband William Blackly, aged 65, born in Canterbury Kent, shoemaker, were living at 21 Minto St., St. Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey London. With them were children Benjamin (37) of Dover Kent, labourer, Frederick (26) of Dover, labourer, Elizabeth S (16) of Southwark Surrey, machine ruler, Sarah A (13 or 15) of Bermondsey.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Sarah A Blackley, aged 60, born in Newington Kent, and husband William Blackley, aged 73, born in Canterbury Kent, shoemaker, were living at 200 St. Georges Rd., Camberwell Surrey. Their daughter Sarah A Jury and her husband Thomas were living at the same address.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Sarah A Brockley [sic], aged 70, born in Newington Kent, widow, was with her daughter Elizabeth S Fowler and her family at 8 Ethnard? Rd, Camberwell Surrey.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Sarah A Blackley, aged 80, born in Newington Kent, widow, was with her daughter Elizabeth Fowler and her family at 237 Chapter Rd., Willesden Middlesex.

(William Blackley was born about 1808 in Canterbury, Kent, England, christened there on 24 Nov 1809 and died on 15 Oct 1884 in Camberwell, Southwark, Surrey, England, aged 76 years.)
