DEATH OF MR CHRISTOPHER PAGE, OF CARDIFF.
We regret to announce the sudden death of Mr Christopher Page, C.E., residing at 87, Stacey-road, Cardiff, which took place at twelve o'clock on Sunday night. Mr Page was chief assistant to Mr Fisher, on the engineering staff of the Taff Vale Railway, and had been for some years in charge of the parliamentary work of the company. He was a leading member of the masonic fraternity of the town, being the Worshipful Master of the Glamorganshire Lodge, No. 36. Only last week he went up to London to attend as a steward representing his lodge at the festival of the Benevolent Institution for Aged Freemasons and Widows of Freemasons, under the presidency of Sir George Elliot. He was unfortunate enough to catch a severe cold whilst travelling to the metropolis, and on his return to Cardiff on Thursday last the ailment developed into pleurisy, to which he finally succumbed. He was a man very highly respected in the town, and was noted for his energy and kindliness. He leaves a wife and four children.
