THE PAGE MILLIONS: INTERVENTION OF A CLAIMANT.
A claimant from South Wales dramatically intervenes in connection with the Page estate, which is said to be worth two million a year, and is now in Chancery.
He is Mr. Richard D. Page, son of Mr. W. Richard Bristed Page, late traffic manager and engineer of the Rhymney Railway Company.
In a conversation with a representative of the Western Mail, Mr. Page said that he and his mother were engaged in putting the facts together, and were about to engage a solicitor.

PAGE ESTATE.
THE NEW CLAIMANT.
Further details have reached us concerning the new claim to the Page Estate. Mr. Richard D. Page, the claimant, is a son of Mr. W. Richard Bristed Page, late traffic manager and engineer of the Rhymney Railway Company, who for sixteen years previously held an important position under the Taff Vale Railway Company. For 37 years he occupied a responsible position in the general manager's office of the Taff Vale Railway Company, but about six years ago, owing to ill-health, he was compelled to give up this position, and since that time he has resided at Caerphilly.
In a conversation with a representative of the "Western Mail" Mr. Page said that he and his mother were engaged in putting the facts together, and were about to engage a solicitor. Asked upon what he based his claim to the estate, Mr. Page said they had a number of very old letters in their possession, dating back to a hundred years or more. But the money was not in Chancery then. We have known of the estate being in Chancery for a considerable time (he said), but we thought our chances were so remote that we have not taken any action yet. The last of the Pages whose estate has passed into Chancery was, he stated, his grandfather's grandfather. His own grandfather had taken up the case many years ago, and had spent about a thousand pounds in collecting evidence connecting him with the estate. He was able to find several certificates of birth and marriage, but there were one or two missing, and without these the line of descent could not be proved. That was one of the reasons why the hope of obtaining possession of the estate was practically abandoned by the present claimant's grandfather.
It is hoped, however, that it will now be easier to trace the missing certificates.

Richard Douglas Page of Fern Bank Caerphilly died aged 61 years (burial record).
----------------------------
Death of Mr. Page.—The death recently occurred at Caerphilly of Mr Richard Douglas Page, eldest son of the late Mr Wm R. B. Page, engineer and manager of the Taff Vale, Rhymney, and Isle of Wight Railways, and grandson of the late Mr Richard Page, for many years harbour master at Aberystwyth. Several residents of Aberystwyth are connected with the family, including Mrs [sic] Harry Davis, Sycamore House. He married a Miss Coleman, sister of a former manager of the Promenade Pier at Aberystwyth, who with a son and eight daughters survive. Mr Page, who was much esteemed in the railway world and by all who knew him at Whitchurch, Cardiff, and Caerphilly, was thought to be next of kin to the Page who owned the estate formerly belonging to Kilburn Monastery who died intestate in 1829. The estate includes valuable portions of London and the home counties and is said to bring in about a million a year and efforts have been made by relatives of the late Mr Richard Page and others to establish a claim.
