He fought in Wales in 1272 and 1277. He had livery of his father's lands 4 June 1275..... In Oct. 1275 Robert handed over his castle of Bunratty in Ireland to the king, on condition that as soon as the contention between the king and his subjects in Ireland is settled, and the said Robert has paid all expenses for its repair, munition, upkeep, and custody while in the king's hand, it shall be restored to him or his heirs. In 1276-7 John Herreward arraigned an assize of novel disseisin against him and others touching a tenement in Thatcham, Berkshire. In July 1276 Thomas de Clare granted him the manors of Aldworth, Compton, and Hampstead Norris, Berkshire, Alvescot, Oxfordshire, and Cottesmore, Rutland, in exchange for Bunratty Castle, Tradree cantred, and Ui-Corbmaig, all in County Clare, in Ireland....
In 1278-9 John Bochenel arraigned an assize of novel disseisin against him and Thomas de Clare regarding common of pasture in Hampstead Cyfrevast, Berkshire. Sometime before 1279, he and Sir Robert de Tibetot witnessed a charter of Pain de Chaworth to Godstow Abbey, Oxfordshire.... 2

Promise to Robert de Muscegros, who has handed over his castle of Bonret in Ireland to the king, to hold and defend against the Irish rebels, on the condition specified in his letters patent delivered to the treasurer and chamberlains of the Exchequer there, to wit, that as soon as the contention between the king and his subjects of the lands of Ireland and the Irish rebels is settled by peace or otherwise, and the said Robert has paid all expenses for its repair, defence, munition and custody while it is in the king's hand, it shall be restored to him or his heirs.

Mandate to G[eoffrey] de Gyenvill, justiciary of Ireland, to let Thomas de Clare have the castle of Bonret with the cantred of Tradery and the theod of Oikormok with the demesnes and liberties, which Robert de Muscegros has quit-claimed to the king, and which the king has granted to the said Thomas in tail, to hold in chief.

Whereas Thomas de Clare in the king's presence surrendered to the king for the behoof of Robert de Muscegros the manors of Hampsted, Aldeworth, Cumpton and Alvescote with £15 7s. 6d. rent in Coddesmore; gift to the said Robert of the said lands to be held by him and his heirs by the services due therefrom, in lieu of the castle of Boureth with the cantred of Tradery and the country (theodum) of Ocormoke, which the said Robert has surrendered to the king for the behoof of the said Thomas.

Writ to Richard de Holebrok the king's steward, 18 Jan., 9 Edw. I.
Endorsed : — On Tuesday the morrow of St. Matthias it was commanded to the sheriffs of Northampton and Huntingdon to execute this writ.
And the same Robert died about fifteen days before Christmas.
Rutland. Inq. Sunday before the Annunciation, 9 Edw. I.
Cotesmor. 8 1/3 virgates land held of the king in chief, service unknown, for Sir Thomas de Clare sometime held the said tenements of the gift of Peter de Monte Forti for his ransom in time of war, and afterwards rendered the same to the king, who enfeoffed the said Robert thereof.
Hawis his daughter, aged 4 at the feast of St. Thomas [the Apostle] next before Christmas last, is his next heir.
[Somerset.] Extent Wednesday before St. Peter in Cathedra, 9 Edw. I.
Stawelle. The manor (extent given), including 2s. 9d. church scot with St. Peter's pence, and the advowson of the church, held of Hugh Poynz by service of 2 knights' fees ; and the lord of the manor renders 10s. to the king for 1 virgate land there, and 2s, to the lords of the manor of Horsinton.

Norton. The manor (extent given), including rent of Selesworth 4s., church scot worth 4s. 9¼d., St. Peter's pence called 'herthpeny' worth 14½d., and profits and rent of the foreign hundred of Norton worth 18s. 4d., held of the king in chief by knight's service, rendering 2s. for the shield when it runs.
He died on the day of St. John at Christmas, 9 Edw. I.

Cherleton Micegros. The manor (extent given), with the advowson of the church, including a wood called Stubwode, held of the manor of Camel, which Queen Eleanor, the king's consort, now holds of the inheritance of John de Burgo, by service of 1 knight's fee ; 24a. land held of Maurice de Bonham rendering 2s. yearly ; and 70a. land and 17a. wood held of William de Insula rendering 6d. yearly.

by homage and suit at his court of Teukesburi, of the prior of
Durhurste by homage, suit at his court of Durhurste, and 1s. 3d. yearly, of Nicholas le Archer for 9s. 6d. yearly, 1lb. pepper and 1lb. cummin of Walter Sturmy for 2s. 6d. yearly, and of Grimbald Pauncefot for 1lb. cummin.

Rutland, which the king has assigned to her in dower, saving to the king in Cotesmor 50s. 4d. which she shall pay yearly until the lawful age of the heir, 9 May, 9 Edw. I.
