At the time of the 1881 England Census Joseph Mepham, age 22, born in Bromley Middlesex, fitter, and wife Lilly [sic], age 21, born in Pembroke S Wales, were living at 38 Slengall Rd., Poplar London.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Joseph T Mepham, age 32, born in Poplar London, steam engine fitter, and wife Eliza J, age 31, born in Pembroke Dock S Wales, were living at 3 Richmond Rd., New Brompton, Gillingham Kent.
