At the time of the 1841 England Census Thos. Mepham, aged about 45, and wife Susannah Mepham, aged about 35, were living in Sidney Place, Poplar London. Neither Thomas nor Susannah were born in the County. With them were children: Thos. (15), messenger, Ritchard (14), Willm. (12), John (9), Saml. (7), Susannah (4), Heny. (1).
At the time of the 1851 England Census Thomas Mepham, age 60, born in Battle Sussex, labourer, and wife Susan Mepham, age 50, born in Witham Sussex, were living in Orchard Road, Bromley St. Leonard, Middlesex. With them were children (born in Middlesex): Richard (23), iron boat builder, John (19), apprentice, Saml. (17), messenger, Susan (14), Henry (9), and Elizabeth (7).
At the time of the 1861 England Census Thomas Mepham, age 70, born in Battle Sussex, labourer, and wife Susannah Mepham, age 60, born in Withyham Sussex, were living at 3 Bright Street, Bromley Middlesex. With them were children: Henry E (20) of Poplar Middlesex, iron boat rivetter, and Elizabeth (17) of Bromley Middlesex. Daughter Susan Harvey and her family were living at 5 Bright Street.
