At the time of the 1901 England Census Edward Preston, age 24, born in Buntingford Herts, house decorator (paint), and wife Edith, age 28, born in Lewisham Kent, were living at 30 Blandford Ave, Beckenham. With them was Edward's brother William. Their brother Luther and his family were living nextdoor at no. 31.
At the time of the 1911 England Census Edward Stephen Preston, age 34, born in Buntingford Herts, house painter, and wife of 11 years Edith Annie, age 38, born in Lewisham Kent (mother of 3 children), were living at 68 Durban Road, Beckenham Kent. With them were children (born in Beckenham): Edith (9), Edward (6) and Mildred (3).
In the 1939 Register Edward S Preston (b. 20 May 1876), house decorator, and [2nd] wife Frances Preston (b. 7 Dec 1877), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 68 Durban Road, Beckenham Kent.

WADDESDON
Death of Mr. E. S. Preston. —
The death ocurred on Friday at his home, 18, High Street, of Mr. Edward Stephen Preston. Seventy-three years of age, he had been in ill health for some time. A retired builder Mr. Preston came from Beckenham Kent, to live at Waddesdon nine years ago. His widow and five children survive him. The funeral was on Wednesday, at the Welseyan Chapel, the Rev. E. H. Harland conducting the service.....
