In Apr 1910 Alfred George Stevens was present at the marriage of his sister Jane Amelia Stevens to Edward James Batchelor in Southborough Kent.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Alfred George Stevens, age 24, born Tunbridge Wells Kent, single, police constable with the Eastbourne Borough Police, was boarding at 30 Havelock Road, Eastbourne Sussex.

In the 1939 Register Alfred G Stevens (b. 22 Sep 1886), police superintendent, retired, and wife Gertrude B E Stevens (b. 19 Mar 1889), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 18 Dillingburgh Road, Eastbourne, Sussex.
