At the time of the 1901 England Census Rosabel M Jarvis, age 34, born in Buntingford Herts, and husband Joseph Jarvis, age 31, born in Bethersden Kent, grocer's porter, were living at 10 Tanfield Road, Croydon Surrey. With them were son Edward W (5) of Forest Gate, Essex, and Joseph's brother Arthur Jarvis (15) of Bethersden Kent, grocer's assistant.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Rosabel M Jarvis, age 44, born in Buntingford Herts (mother of 5 children, 3 deceased), and husband of 16 years Joseph Jarvis, age 41, born in Bethersden Kent, grocer's warehouseman, were living at 10 Tanfield Road, Croydon Surrey.
