At the time of the 1881 England Census Jane Deverell, age 28, born in Alciston, and husband John Deverell, age 38, born in Waddesden Buckinghamshire, farmer of 85 acres employing 2 men & 2 boys, were living in Camberlot Farm, Hellingly Sussex. With them were children (born in Hellingly): Ann (3), Fred (2), Jim (1), Rose (6 months), John's brother James Deverell (29) of Eweline? Oxfordshire, unmarried, farm servant, and Jane's nephew Thomas Eager (14) of Lewes Sussex, farm servant.
In Nov 1885 Jane Deverell of Globe Farm, widow, was granted Administration of the personal effects of her late husband.
At the time of the 1891 England Census Jane Deverell, age 34, born in Alciston, widow, charwoman, was living at 10 Brook St., Hailsham.
