At the time of the 1871 England Census Henry Mocket, age 20, born in Alciston Sussex, wheelwright, was with his sister Susanah Edmonds and her husband in Gardner Street Herstmonceux.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Henry Mockett, age 29, born in Alfriston [sic], wheelwright, and wife Harriett, age 37, born in Brighton, were living in Arlington Court, Washington Sussex. With them were daughters Mary (5) of Steyning, Amy (4) of Washington, and Margaret (2) of Washington.
