3 Ellinor's father is not named in her grandfather's Will. At first it seemed that the granddaughter in question was Elinor's daughter of the same name. However, the first Ellen was born with her twin Jane in 1826; they both died in the same year. Her next daughter named Eleanor was born in 1831, after Evan Wynne wrote his will in 1829. So the granddaughter to whom he refers would be the wife of Rees Barrow. Of Evan's sons, the eldest, Robert, retained the surname Wynne and was in Caernarvon the year Elinor was born; Humphrey did not marry until 1814. So through a process of elimination it would appear that Eleanor was the daughter of John Evans and Lowry Williams who were married in Llanfair in 1802. The Llanfair baptismal records for this period are currently not available. Though the Censuses show she was born in Llanbedr (she was of Cefn Cymera at the time of her marriage), there is no record of her having been christened there. It is worthwhile to note the naming patterns: her first two children (both the dead twins and the two daughters following) are named Jane and Eleanorthe former presumably named after Rees's mother, the latter after Eleanor herself; the third daughter is Lowry, presumably named after Elinor's mother, and the eldest son, John, named, again presumably, after Elinor's father.
