In 1756 John Hockin was co-executor and a beneficiary of his father's will, receiving his share of the estate of Nantarrow in Gwithian, and his father's estate called Treloweth Wartha in the parish of Illogan.

Gives £5 to his elder sister Blanch Phillips, and 5 shillings each to her five daughters.
Gives £5 to his second sister Jane Harris.
Gives to his nephew Richard Phillips his right and title in a tenement called Treloweth Wartha in Park in the parish of Illogan, directing that Richard pay out of the proceeds thereof £3 annually to the four children of the said Jane Harris.
Gives to his kinsman Benjamin Hockin a moiety of a tenement called Burn Cose in Illogan, and his right and title in its two mines.
Gives £10 to his servant man Phillip Andrewartha, along with all his wearing apparel.
Gives to his brother Benjamin Hockin his right and title in the tenements called Nantarrow Ullus [Wollas] in the parish of Gwithian and Nancemelling East in the parish of Camborne.
Gives his wife Anne Hockin an annuity of £20, to be paid out of the said tenements by his brother Benjamin for the term of her natural life.
All the rest of his goods & chattels, cash and mortgages, he gives to his wife Anne Hockin, appointing her sole executrix of his last will and testament.
