Cowes.
THE LATE MRS. CRISPIN.—We regret to record the decease of this lady, which took place on Saturday at her residence, known as the Pavilion, situated on the Parade. Mrs. Crispin, who was upwards of 75 years of age at the time of her death, will be very much missed in this town and neighbourhood, from her numerous charities. Mrs. Crispin was a widow of the late Admiral Rattray, of Burford, Warwickshire, J.P., and Deputy Lieutenant of the County. He was descended from persons of the same name, who trace their lineage back in unbroken succession to the times of William the Lion and Alexander the 2nd, of Scotland. He was present at the battle of Trafalgar when he served as a midshipman. After his decease, which happened about 17 years ago, the deceased lady married Capt. William Crispin, R.N., A.D.C., who for many years commanded Her Majesty's yacht Victoria and Albert. On his retirement from that position he was appointed Naval Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty, in which position he remained till his decease about ten years ago, at Hanover-square, London. His relict, Mrs. Crispin, who is the subject of this notice, was buried at the Cemetery on Thursday morning, when the Rev. J. D. Middleton, Vicar of Holy Trinity Church read the service.
