In 1871 Phillippa S. Paynter, aged 23, born in St. Ives Cornwall, and husband Edward Paynter, aged 24, born in St. Ives, custom house officer, were living at 52 Lichfield Rd., Mile End Old Town, London. With them were daughter Phillippa C. (1) of St. Ives and husband's niece Elizabeth Paynter (12) of St. Ives, scholar.

In 1881 Philippa Paynter, aged 33, born in St. Ives, and husband Edward Paynter, aged 34, born in St. Ives, house carpenter, were living in Gabriel Street, St. Ives. Present were children (born in St. Ives) Edward W. (9), scholar, and Bessie (7), scholar. (Daughter Phillippa C. Paynter, aged 11, born in St. Ives, scholar, was with her grandparents.)

In 1891 Phillippa S. Paynter, aged 42, born in St. Ives, and husband Edward Paynter, aged 44, born in St. Ives, joiner, were in Gabriel Street, St. Ives. With them were children (born in St. Ives) Phillippa C. (21), assistant mistress, Edward V. (19), assistant master, Bessie S. (17), and Richard S. (2 mo).

Philippa married Edward Paynter, son of John Paynter and Elizabeth Curnow, on 7 Jun 1869 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Penzance, Cornwall. (Edward Paynter was born in 1846 in St. Ives, Cornwall, christened there 17 Jan 1847, and died in 1929 in the Penzance District, Cornwall, aged 83 years.)

At the Wesleyan chapel, Penzance, on the 7th inst., by the Rev. E. Nye, Mr. Edward Paynter, builder, of Barnoon, St. Ives, to Miss Phillippa Seymour Cogar, of South Terrace, St. Ives.
