Abstract of the Will of Alice Vivian of Penkalenick in the County of Cornwall, Widow, written 16 Apr 1822, proved 5 Oct 1825. 3

Gives to the current rector of the parish of Camborne and to the vicar of the parish of St. Clements both in county Cornwall, 19 guineas each, in trust, for the relief of the poor persons of the said parishes.

Gives 19 guineas to the Charity for the relief of widows and children of clergyman.

Gives 19 guineas to the Rev. Francis Jenkins, present vicar of St. Clements.

Gives £25 each to her nephew George Vivian of Portland Place in co. Middlesex, esquire, and John Bennett of the parish of Redruth in co. Cornwall, stationer, as a small acknowledgment of their efforts in the execution of her will. Gives a further £80 to the said John Bennett as a gratuity for his children.

Gives to her friend Elizabeth Bennetts of Redruth, spinster, £2,000 worth of stock in the three-percent reduced annuities of the Bank of England. If Elizabeth should die within the testator's lifetime, then she gives the same to Elizabeth's brothers, the said John Bennett and Charles Bennett, share and share alike.

Gives to her friend Julia Reynolds late of Penair in co. Cornwall, spinster, £1,000 worth of stock in the said annuities. If Julia should died within the testator's lifetime, then she gives the same to Julia's brother, Barrington Reynolds of the same place, esquire.

Gives £1,000 of her stock to her friend Elizabeth Woollcombe, the wife of the Rev. William Woollcombe of Ilsington in co. Devon, clerk.

Gives £1,000 of her stock to the said Barrington Reynolds.

Gives £1,000 of her stock to William Richards of Camborne, son of the Rev. John Richards of the same place. If William should die within the lifetime of the testator, she gives the same to Mary Paul wife of James Paul of Camborne, farmer, and sister of the said William Richards.

Gives £1,000 of her stock to her nephew John Ennis Vivian of the temple, London, esquire, and to the said George Vivian and the said John Bennett, in trust, to pay the dividends thereof to Harriet Tippet, widow of James Tippet late of Falmouth in co. Cornwall, gent. After Harriet's decease she gives the same to Harriet's daughter, Louisa Brown, widow, sister of the late James Vivian Vivian.

Gives an annuity of £240 to her sister Ann Turner, widow, along with her clothing, coach and horses.

Gives an annuity of £12 12s. to Mary Vivian of Lemon Street Truro, widow, during the natural life of Catherine Vivian the daughter of Haughton Vivian late of the parish of Gwennap in co. Cornwall, mine agent, deceased.

Gives an annuity of £30 to Matthew Bennetts of Killivooe in Camborne, miner.

Following the deaths of the said Catherine Vivian and Matthew Bennetts she gives the said annuity of £12 12s. to her old family servant Nanny Richards.

Gives 19 guineas to her friend Lady Penrose.

Gives 19 guineas each to her nieces Elizabeth Julia, Emily and Marianne Vivian, as well as her diamond pins, set of pearls and best suit of lace.

Gives certain articles of plate which formerly belonged to Johnson Vivian of Truro, deceased, to Mr. John Vivian of Nansloe in co. Cornwall, and, after his decease, to such son or grandson of the said John Vivian as shall be heir at law.

Gives to the said John Ennis Vivian certain household goods and furniture which were brought from London and from her late husband's dwelling at Truro.

Gives to the said John Ennis Vivian and to her nephew John Edwards Vivian of Portland Place, her household linen, china, two chests of drawer made from maple, two iron chests and the contents of his wine and spirit cellars.

Gives to her said sister Ann Turner and to the said John Ennis Vivian all her books (excepting what are in the servants hall cupboards).

Gives to her brother John Vivian of Portland Place and to the said John Ennis Vivian the rest of her household goods and furniture, including pictures, prints and chimney ornaments.

Gives 19 guineas each to her servants and workmen Thomas Mitter, Richard Johns, John Penrose and Richard Blewet.

Gives £10 each to the farm boy in her house and her maid servants.

Gives £10 to her current apprentice Elizabeth Coade, and £5 to Mary Varcoe, her past apprentice.

Gives £1 and a pair of gloves each to the labourers in the garden and to the three men and boy on the farm, in addition to their usual wages.

All the rest of her lands, tenements, ready money &c. she gives to the said John Ennis Vivian and John Edwards Vivian, for their use.

Alice married John Vivian, son of John Vivian of Rosewarne, Gent. and Julian Mill, on 19 Dec 1771 in Kea, Cornwall. (John Vivian was christened on 18 Feb 1742/3 in Camborne, Cornwall and was buried on 31 Jan 1802 in Camborne, Cornwall.)
