Abstract of the Will of the Reverend John Vivian of Pencalenick, Clerk, written 16 Jan 1787, proved 10 Feb 1802. ³

Requests his body be buried in the vault at Camborne beside his brother James Vivian.

Gives to his wife Alice Vivian one-third part of his goods, chattels and personal effects.

Appoints his friends William Harris of Rosewarne, Esq., the Rev. Edw^d. Giddy of Tredrea, and John Vivian Esq., solicitor of Excise, co-executors in trust, giving them 10 guineas each and directing them to manage the affairs of his son John Vivian during his minority.

Gives 5 guineas each to his mother, sisters and brothers-in-law.

Gives 1 guinea to each of his servants.

Gives mourning to his servants Mary Osborn and Grace Quay?, and to his coachman and two footmen.

Gives 5 guineas each to the parishes of Camborne and St. Clements for the poor there.

Gives to his son John Vivian two-thirds of his goods, chattels and personal effects.

In a codicil dated 23 Jan 1787 he gives to his widow his copyhold and leasehold estates in Cornwall and Devon during her widowhood.

Confirms on his son John Vivian all his said landed and copyholded estates, they having being entailed upon him by the testator's brother, James Vivian.

In a further codicil dated 29 Sep 1787, he names his brothers-in-law as follows:— Mr. Matt^w Vivian, his steward, five guineas ; Captⁿ J. Vivian of Vellansaundry Sen^r, 5 guineas ; Miss E. Vivian (sister of his wife), 5 guineas ; Mr. and Mrs. Turner of Marazion, 5 guineas to buy mourning ; and to his five sisters 5 guineas apiece.

Gives 5 guineas to his cousin John Vivian, merchant, of Redruth.

In another codicil dated 4 Jul 1788 he names his five sisters, viz^t. Mrs. Tippet, Babb, Bennett, Reynolds and Richards, ten guineas each over and above what he has already bequeathed them in his will.

In a codicil dated 23 Oct 1791, he gives to each of his servants living at Pencalenick 2 guineas each in addition to what he has already bequeathed them in his will.

Gives to Anne Richards his attendant in the gout an annuity of 5 guineas for life.

Gives 5 guineas to his god-daughter Julia Reynolds.

Gives 5 guineas to his godson [blank] Richards son of Rev. J. Richards.

To Mrs. Vivian of Redruth, wife of Mr. Mathew Vivian, to Mrs. Vivian wife of his cousin John Vivian of Redruth, to Mrs. Vivian of St. Erth, widow of his late friend Johnson Vivian, to her son John Vivian and daughter Ann Sandoe, and to Capt. Andrew Vivian, two guineas each.

In a codicil dated 2 Jun 1793, he gives to his said attendant Anne Richards an annuity of £3 for life, besides what he has already bequeathed her in his will.

In a codicil dated 27 Oct 1798, he gives £100 to his niece Julia Reynolds.

Gives £100 to his wife's sister, Miss Elizabeth Vivian.

Gives £100 to his nephew Mr. James Tippet sen^r of Falmouth, and 5 guineas to James's son, James.

Gives 2 guineas to Mrs. James Tippet of Falmouth.

Gives 2 guineas to each of his three nieces Jenny, Polly and Betsy, daughters of Mrs. Tippet of Camborne.

Gives 2 guineas each to his nieces Betsy Bennett and Mary Richards.

Gives 2 guineas each to Mrs. Solicitor? Vivian and Eliz^th. Reynolds.

Gives 2 guineas each to his sister Tippett's five younger sons, to Mrs. Bennett's two sons, and to Mr. Captain Reynolds two sons.

Administration with the will was granted to John Vivian the son and one of the residuary legatees, William Harris, Esq., the Rev. Edward Giddy, clerk, and John Vivian, Esq., the executors named in the will having first renounced the probate and execution thereof.
