"On the 26th ult. off the Lizard, on his passage home from India, Charles Vivian Tippett, Esq. The circumstances attending the decease of this Gentleman are rather remarkable; he had been absent from his family for many years, and it was understood by them that he was dead, when his elder brother, the late James Vivian Tippett, Esq. became entitled to the estates of the late John Vivian, Esq. of Pencalenick, by the will of that gentleman, in compliance with which he took the name of Vivian. Shortly after the death of Mr. James Vivian, letters were received from Mr. Charles Tippett; and as heir to his brother, he was informed of the situation in which the death of Mr. John Vivian, and that of his brother had placed him. He was on his return to claim the estates and take the name of Vivian, agreeably to the will of the late Mr. John Vivian, when he expired in sight of the coast of his native country, and within a few miles of his expected inheritance. In consequence of his death, the estates in question devolve to his cousin, John Vivian Vivian, Esq. of Helston." 2
